National Museum of the American Indian

The National Museum of the American Indian had it's Grand Opening today, September 21, 2004. It is right across the way from the Capital Building in Washington D.C. There is one in New York, Maryland, and now in your very own Washington D.C.

These museums are here to show and educate us about all of the different kinds of Native Indians that are living in the world today (Still). It's also there to show us that a lot of the rumors about Indians are just exaggerations of the truth (All wear feathers, dance around fires, and scalp enemies hair. You know, stuff like that).

I think that this is a very cool that you will be able to see all of the different kinds of Native American cultures residing all in the same museum.
They have every kind of Native Indian culture, including Tlingit Indian; which happens to be what kind of Native Indian I am.

Sarah and I will be going to visit some good friends living in Baltimore in a week or two, and you can be sure we'll be stopping at this museum on the way. Admission is free, so I would suggest that all of you do the same (If you're going to be around Washington D.C. anyway).

Find out more about the Native American Museum by visiting there main site at This Address.

p.s. My Tlingit name is KaatYaah (caught-yaw), and My wife's Tlingit name is GitJah (git-jaw)
