Fantasy fun

No not that kind of fantasy silly! Football Fantasy.

I am so proud of my team this week, they have scored 209 fantasy points so far (Just this week). Good Job B. Farve-QB; J. Walker-WR; H. Ward-WR; S. Alexander; T. Jones; and Seattle-Def for racking up the points! Although my team did lose (Packers, this is my FARVErite team); it was such an exiting game to watch (Colt and Packers). I hope you got a chance to see it.

What happened was on the last few minutes of the game (31-Packers and 38-Colts) Packers had the ball, Farve starts throwing the ball like a mad man down the field trying to tie the game before it was over. Completion after completion (They might have had A. Green Rush a few times as well), finally I think around the 28 yard line (I am guessing on this. It was pretty close) makes a completion to J. Walker (Who already has 190 some yards and 3 TDs under his belt this game), which then runs the ball for about 8 yards to the 20 yard line when he is about to be tackled. But wait.... ....What's this.... ....stripped by Colts Defender Jason David! You Bastard! And that's why the Colts Win It. Nice!

Well you can't win them all. Good effort Guys. At least Farve and Walker hooked up this game.

Which reminds me why I was leaving this post in the first place.

I read a funny story from one of the fantasy football experts at yahoo just today. It reminded me of... ... well, me. Read this story, it is so true about hard core fantasy football coaches it's not even funny (But it is funny, you know who you are).

A new look and feel

I am just tinkering around with the look of my blog a bit. I am also trying to come up with a different name for myself as well.
All just for the fun of it. I felt like having a matrix feel to my blog, since I will be in the Computer field and all. Still trying to figure out this damn html code! I will be taking a html class next term. This will make explore time a little more like who's your daddy time (If you catch the action that I'm throwing your way).

Any suggestions for a name would be appreciated. I thought that Michael's Blog was a bit boring I guess. There was already another blog out there named "Michael's BlogSpot", which was very similar. I will think of something cool, just wait and see my pretty, wait and see!

P.S. Oh, and Richard. I probably wouldn't have known anything about blogging if it wasn't for you. Thanks DaddyBlog!

P.S.S. Man my fantasy team kicked booty this week. Go Farve! It's your Birthday! No Presents! Just a Party!

A Look into a Raven

This is my sister Julia. She goes to Penn State Main Campus for criminal justice.
I will need her around my neighborhood. Welcome to the bloggerhood!

She too is from the Tlingit Raven Clan. I know her Tlingit name; but I forget how to spell it. Sorry Jewels.

Maybe you could check out her blog and ask her for yourself. Her link is also on my links (Penn State Baby!)

Love yah Sis! Talk to ya soon!

Life According to Jimmy

This might be a day late, but I just wanted to let you know (as RichardZ already did) that another good friend has joined the blogging force. I like to think of it as coming out of the closet, or bringing out your secret identity.

You see, Jimmy is very much into Superman (as you may see when you visit his site). So this pick, and the link I made to him was the perfect way for Jimmy to get introduced to the world.
This is the friend that I mentioned I was going to visit in Baltimore in a week of two Then Washington D.C. for the Native American Museum.
Welcome my Man! And try not to fly too far from home. He thinks he can really fly.

Jim has been going to the University of Baltimore for a while now and is close to being done soon. He will soon become "Super lawyer". Flying from case to case with the means to right the wrong, and bring peace on earth.

Thanks Jim, the world can feel a little safer now that we know your here.

Peace.

I love Neighbors

I don't know about you, but I just love it when your neighbors stay up and sing...
really loud! I actually can't tell if they are singing, or yelling. They are speaking Spanish, and I don't know Spanish well enough to tell, but whatever it is it's loud. They let there kids run around like chickens with they're heads cut off, and yell at them to shut up (duh, can I sue them?). I guess you have to live in a neighborhood like the one I live in. It is (If you can forgive my labeling) kind of near the ghetto. Not quit the ghetto, but real close to it.

The other day (or should I say night) there was a bunch of people yelling at the top of they're lungs, swearing up a storm. Sarah and I wake up to this at, oh....
....3:30 a.m. (that's the early morning one). They are right in front of our apartment window screaming and fighting (how lucky, are, we). Sarah says "should we call the police", and I say "no, someone probably already called them". Sure enough, we looked out the window and there were (and I'm not kidding) SEVEN cop cars out in the street in front of our place. We finally got back to bed at about 4:15 a.m. and woke up at about 6:15 a.m. (for school and work). Fabulous!

I guess I let off enough steam about our neighborhood for now.

Tune in next week when I will teach you how to sound proof your home.

Native American/ American Indian?

Richard recently posted a comment about my thoughts on using Native American, or American Indian as a label for myself; as in this article that he commented on that's about this very same issue.

Until he mentioned this I've never given it much thought. I always labeled myself as Native American because that is what I am (Native to America). I think that I have said American Indian before because of the Indian part of it, just so people know I am an Indian.

I think that I would liked to be labeled a "Native American Tlingit Indian" because I am Tlingit, I am Native to America, and my Tribe is Tlingit, and I am Indian. That would be fine by me. Then again I am part of the "Raven Clan" as well. So maybe I should consider "Native American Tlingit Indian from the Raven Clan" as my label. This too would be fine. Or if I had to choose with one or the other, I would have to say Native American.

But you can call me Kaat-Yaah.

How does everyone else feel about these labels?
Let me know.

National Museum of the American Indian

The National Museum of the American Indian had it's Grand Opening today, September 21, 2004. It is right across the way from the Capital Building in Washington D.C. There is one in New York, Maryland, and now in your very own Washington D.C.

These museums are here to show and educate us about all of the different kinds of Native Indians that are living in the world today (Still). It's also there to show us that a lot of the rumors about Indians are just exaggerations of the truth (All wear feathers, dance around fires, and scalp enemies hair. You know, stuff like that).

I think that this is a very cool that you will be able to see all of the different kinds of Native American cultures residing all in the same museum.
They have every kind of Native Indian culture, including Tlingit Indian; which happens to be what kind of Native Indian I am.

Sarah and I will be going to visit some good friends living in Baltimore in a week or two, and you can be sure we'll be stopping at this museum on the way. Admission is free, so I would suggest that all of you do the same (If you're going to be around Washington D.C. anyway).

Find out more about the Native American Museum by visiting there main site at This Address.

p.s. My Tlingit name is KaatYaah (caught-yaw), and My wife's Tlingit name is GitJah (git-jaw)

So, what's with the hurricanes?

Have you noticed the hurricanes? I've noticed the hurricanes. I can't believe the number of hurricanes that are going on down there. I can't imagine what it would be like living down south with all these hurricanes, every other week.

You know there's another hurricane forming right behind Ivan?! It seems that all the hurricanes got together and decided to gang up on the united states southeastern border and give it a good whoopin.

I prey the all of the families living in Florida, Alabama and well, just about everyone living on this southern border.

"Despite the damage wrought by Charley and Frances, "we've been very fortunate," says William Gray, a tropical-meteorology specialist at Colorado State University who pioneered seasonal hurricane forecasting. He notes that since 1995, only 1 out of 7 major hurricanes spawned in the Atlantic have made landfall in the US, compared with the 100-year average of 1 in 3. The Florida peninsula alone saw 14 major hurricanes between 1926 and 1965. Since 1966, only three major storms have struck - Andrew, Charley, and Frances." A small snip-it from the csmonitor.com.

Now I heard of hurricane season; but this is ridiculous!

I just hope everyone can hang in there and ride it out to the end, without getting too hurt. I prey for the families that have already lost loved one's in the past few hurricanes.

I hope there will be enough charity drives and donations for the families who have lost everything the relentless hurricanes that have emerged the past few months.

Good Luck All! Don't Give Up the Fight!

The Last Frontier

Juneau is a beautiful city.

I find that as much as I try, I can't stop thinking of how much I liked living there. Everything I do or see, seems to remind me of Juneau. I don't know if this means that I should move back; or is it just a nostalgic feeling that I have that is there so I don't forget about what once was. It is something that has been embedded in the minds of both Sarah (wife) and I, ever since we returned home about a year ago.

I feel that once you have been to Alaska (Juneau especially) just one time, there is a permanent feeling of loss once you leave. Not just any loss; but the feeling of home that is engraved in your mind, body and soul. (Maybe it's something that they put in the water.)

This is a wonderful and powerful city.

If you've never been there, make some plans to go sometime. You will love it, and maybe when you leave you'll know what I'm talking about.

Alaska, The Last Frontier.

New Audio Blog...

this is an audio post - click to play

ChatterBox...

I have posted a new item on the side section of my blog called a ChatterBox. It is just there for comments on anything that I had not yet posted; or just to state your opinions.

This ChatterBox may be temporary, depending on how much it is used.

Give me your opinion on this (if you want). I haven't been blogging for that long, so maybe I missed the boat on these types of things. Maybe its out of style (or maybe not in style). I will be testing out these sort of things for a while until I get more the hang of things.

Thanks
Mr. Mike

Carlos Boozer?

I am not sure if there are any basketball fans that know who Carlos Boozer is; but Carlos plays for the Utah Jazz.

I don't follow basketball as much as I follow football, but I just found out that Carlos graduated high school in 1999, from a little high school called Juneau Douglas High school. You may not know too much about this school either, but I actually went to school there for my freshmen ('92)and Sophomore ('93)years.
Juneau as I mentioned is where I was born and frequently visit almost every summer.
Carlos recently visited Juneau this summer, which is why I found all of this out.
Carlos graduated from Duke, and also played for Team USA in the Olympics, in which they won the Bronze (as you may know).

I just thought that this was a little fun fact for anyone who follows basketball and was interested in a little Alaskan trivia. I know that it was kind of cool for me, since I am from this small city in the hills (Mountains).

Now that I know this about Carlos, maybe The Utah Jazz will be my team to watch.

Fantasy Owners...

I was just wondering if there were other fantasy football owners out there.
If so, how was your first week?
I had the 2nd best team in points this week with a pinch over 140. I was only out scored by RichardZ.com's writer, owner and producer; RichardZ. He ended up with a monstrous 150 points. I was glad I was not playing him this past week.
I feel that football is just not as fun to watch unless you coach your own fantasy team. Am I right fantasy owners?!
If you like football, and are not yet in the fantasy football frenzy, try it! I know you'll love it!
Yahoo is the site we use for our fantasy football leagues. It is free! Just get your group of 5 to 10 friends, and have a ball (Foot-ball that is).

One for the bloggers

I just read an interesting piece on a type of political blogging... ...or something like that.
"Bloggers drive hoax probe into Bush memos" is the headline.. Maybe some of you read it already and couldn't give a rats ass. But some may find it is a fun fact. You be the judge, and let me know if it makes you feel good about being a blogger. I am an amateur to these bloggers, but still I am proud of what I can report.

Go Bloggers! Go!

Buy your weapon now before it's against the law...

I don't know about you, but I am heading out to get my Semi-Automatic Weapons before they legalize it again.
What do you think about this Expiring the ban of Assault Weapon? I for one think that it is a terrible thing for you and I; but a good thing for the common criminal. Now they can get their bank robbing weapons a little easier (Great!). Of course "“The change in law relating to assault weapons has no impact on the Brady Law,” Wells said." (Chief of FBI unit) "But it gives all of us who are thinking about robbing a bank for the first time easier to get our hands on a good AK 47 to do it with." Michael Sheakley says.
Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I wouldn't ever think of doing this; but what about anyone else without a rap-sheet, and thinking about getting into the other side of criminal law (The criminal lawless side?).

Nice! Thanks A Lot!

My Bro

This is my brother David Sheakley. He is a professional photographer in Alaska and took the main pictures for our wedding. He has been living in Juneau Alaska for about 5 or 6 years now. This picture was taken at our wedding by the falls (By our Mom). He came down for about 5 days just to help us, and be the main photographer at our wedding. Thanks David, it really meant a lot. School Days...

I had mentioned that I was attending Tri-State Business Institute (For Computer Networking). I am going to try to get certified as a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). To become an MCSE you have to take Certification tests (Duh). Seven of them. I still have to take them all (I have to pick up my pace). I am about half way done with school now, and I still have to take the tests. I will have a Associate Degree, but having the Certs is definitely a bonus for landing a job much easier.

I have taken quite a few classes already: (These are the Primary classes so far)
1) Network +
2) Windows XP Pro
3) Windows 2000 Server
4) Windows 2000 Active Directory Services
5) Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure Administration
6) Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure
7) SQL Server 2000 System Administration
8) Security +
This term I am taking...
9) Cisco (CCNA) Configuring Routers and Switches.

I am enjoying myself at TSBI. Learning lots; as the learning process never ends. I will be done in march of 2005. So if there's anyone who knows of a company in Erie Pennsylvania that's in need of a Network Administrator... ...let's say oh... ...around march of 2005, Let me know.

Thanks.

Tune in Next week when I'll show you how to configure your wireless laptop into a hashing, symmetric algorithm breaking honeypot. (Just kidding)

tis the season...

It is a time for men and women to spend time in front of the television, watching men tackle other men in the attempt to break something.
It is a time for nacho's and beer to be consumed, as we watch our team pulverize your team.
A time for fantasy coaches to unite their teams together in hopes that they can make enough points from each player to make it to the playoffs.
Yes, it's that time of year.

Six words that are music to my ears.

Lets Get Ready For Some Football!!

I like to call it "My, sit in front of the TV, trade and scout for players on the computer, when there is not a game on the TV, Plan".

I am on a fantasy football league if you already didn't guess. I have a fairly good team this year Consisting of:

Running Backs

1) Ahman Green
2) Edgerrin James
3) Thomas Jones
4) Eddie George

Wide receivers

1) Hines Ward
2) Darrell Jackson
3) Drew Bennett
4) Isaac Bruce
5) Jerry Rice
6) A. Randle El

Tight End

1) Boo Williams

Quarter Backs

1) Marc Bulger
2) Jake Delhomme

Kicker

1) Jeff Wilkins

defense

1) Seattle
2) Tampa Bay

I am in the midst of a trade between another team right now including:
My Edgerrin James and Darrell Jackson for His Shaun Alexander and Javon Walker.
So if this goes threw, My team will be changing just a bit. I think that this is a fair trade myself.

Present and Future Edits

I am in the midst of Editing Michael's Blog so it reflects more of my personality. So expect a few more changes.

I have a link showing all of the latest virus threats that are out, thanks to the wonderful people at Sophos.com, and Richard Zimjewski (A good friend, and fellow Blogger), who has been helping me understand the interesting world of html. Rich has created his own blog in along with a plethora of other web sites that he has under his belt. You can visit his Blog at Richardz.com.
Thanks for the help Rich. I am enjoying the learning process.

Rich not only has a profesion as a web designer, but also started law school this year. He is studying at the Ave Maria School of Law in Michigan. Good luck with that.

Pictures

I have finally figured out how to post my pictures up threw "Hello Bloggerbot (Picasa)". So expect a lot more pics.
I am hoping to get a new digital Canon camera. The New Canon Mark II is what I want, but I will settle for the 10D, he he. They are SLR Cameras, and very nice ones at that. The 10D is a 6.3 megapixel $1000 camera, and the Mark II is 8 megapixel $4000 camera. The difference is in the performance. The Mark II is what pro's would use because it is very fast and has a vast amount of extra features. The 10D is fast enough to use as a backup for pro's, but for action shots Mark II is for you.
