Blow out...

I need to get cable, or at least the Bravo Channel. For some reason I love watching this channel (My wife and I both). Our favorite most recently was/is Blow Out. Has anyone else watched this show? Brilliant!! I'm not sure if this show is on anymore, but it was great to watch (We couldn't get enough of it). Jonathan Antin wanted to become a "Prominent 'Hairstylist' Player" in Beverly Hill's and they followed him on his crazy journey through this process to find the right team and right spot to fulfill his lifelong dream (He is surprisingly not even gay, not that there's anything wrong with that).

Man, I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a soft soggy sandwich here...

Jonathan made you laugh, cry and even made you say "No he didn't!" all the way up to the end (He was doing a lot of tearing up himself). We will definitely have to get this on DVD when it comes out. So we can see all of the episodes we missed and to re-watch the one's that we just have to see again.

Thanks Jonathan, for your ability to keep us entertained and (Keeping us) coming back for more.

Brilliant!!

A penny for your thoughts....

If we only had $.50 cents to split between us and I gave you a quarter, and you gave him $.10, and he gave her a nickel, and she gave them $. 03 cents to split, but one only got a penny. And the one that got a penny, gave it to their brother....

....Which one of us was more generous?

And, if you are thinking that this is one of the optional questions that Google's Blogger gives you in the "About Me" section, you would be wrong. I made this baby up all by my self.

You really don't have to answer this...

....but then again you probably don't know the answer anyways.

Oh, and about our new kitten (And the possible name for him, not her as we origonally thought), I just call him 'Kevin Bacon', he seems to like that name.

Loser....

Why do A-Holes have to be such A-Holes? Why can't they just be B-Holes like everyone else? I’d even settle for a C-Hole every now and then.

Sarah went to school today and noticed when she got out of her car, there was a HUGE dent in her back door. This must have happened over the weekend, because she hasn't driven her car since then. HIT AND RUN BASTARDS! That's all I have to say.

So now, if she wanted to use her insurance to fix her car, she has to pay $500 just for the deductible (Collision). Which I'm sure will cost a little less than this... so basically she's fuct. Damn those hit and run bastard a-hole son of a motherless goats!

Well, I guess the next house/apt. we rent will have to have off street parking or Nada renting for us! It is ridiculous that it has to come to this, but a very similar thing happened to her car at our last Apt. (No off street parking) and we don't want to make it 3 for 3.

Maybe all we need to do is put camera’s up around the house and have a few pointing at our cars in hopes that the next time this happens, we will see a license plate number or maybe even a head shot.

We are still on the look out for a car/truck around our neighborhood with green paint scrapes and a possible dent on the front or back bumper. And only then, when we find'um, we can open up a can of whoop ass on this sad waste of a human being.

For the guy/girl who participated in the Hit and Run... You can eat a big fat rotten knuckle sandwich! Beotch! And Please accept our loser of the month care card...

Signed,

Victim's of a crime

FF News Report....

We interrupt you from your regularly scheduled bloggram to bring you this special news bulletin....

...Sorry if you are not interested in Football or Fantasy Football as that is what this post is ALL about... Well it is Football Season damn it!...

Double Down's Fantasy Football Draft on Yahoo! Sports has came and gone. I think I did Ok with the picks that I made, but I'm sure that I could have chosen a few better picks than I did.

My Two keepers from last years League were going to be Ahman Green from Green Bay and Shaun Alexander from Seattle, but I had to make a last minute change from Ahman to Julius Jones from Dallas. Jones will be one of the top 5 Running Backs in the NFL this year (At least in Fantasy Football). So I think I made a wise choice to keep him instead of Green.

The others I drafted were Javon Walker from Green Bay, Darrell Jackson from Seattle, Issac Bruce from St. Lois and Lee Evans from Buffalo as my wide receivers. My other Running back was Fred Taylor from Jacksonvillewhich I now know may not get as many touches the first few weeks because of his knee injury, I now have Mike Anderson which I may still trade for LaMont Jordan (This is fine, cause he will only serve as back up to Jones and Alexander). I managed to grab up Tony Gonzales from Kansas City as my Tight End, and my back up is Jeb Putzier from Denver I had to grab another RB to spell other RB in the later week when others are on bye weeks, but still need backup TE so I picked up Chris Cooley from Washinton instead (He can be played as TE or RB positions) Which I'm sure won't last too long on my team before trading for a better backup for Gonzales. My Quarterback's are the picks I probably could have done a little better with. I got Drew Brees from San Diego and Carson Palmer from Cincinnati. Not horrible, but what are ya gonna do. Our Defense counts as the whole team, and I snagged Pittsburgh and Washington Traded Washington for Dallas (We'll see). Kickers are Jason Elam from Denver and Jason Hanson from Detroit (Huh, two Jason's). So all in all, I think this will be a good season for my team Juneau Fifth Street. I plan on riding my running backs all the way to the end of the season.

Well, in a nutshell, this is my team this year. I hope that all you Fantasy Football players out there are as siked as I am (I don't see how that is possible). Give me a run down of your starters in this years fantasy football leagues.

And as for this years team head coach's for League Double Down... Get ready to have your whop ass handed to you on a silver platter my friends!

Thanks you for tuning in… You may now return to your regular schedule bloggrams....

Saturday mornings are....

So, Saturday mornings are usually filled with Video Games and Online Poker playing. I thought I would try something a little different. Now that I've beaten the Redskins this morning with my Packers on ESPN 2k5, I will start my household cleaning.

When we moved in at the beginning of this month, we started this unpacking of the household things, thing. You know, the one where you unpack your things throughout the year and hope to get-r-done (Ha) by the one-year anniversary of the actual moved in date. Well, maybe we are the only ones who participate in the yearly unpacking ritual. I don't remember half of the stuff that comes out of these bins (We have about 35 to 40 small blue bins you buy at Wal-Mart for storing EVerything. They stack nice on the truck during the move and also in the attic once moved in). I think we should participate in an annual or even better, biannual garage sale to get rid of some of this stuff. It's amazing, the amount of stuff you can keep stored in your house you actually don't need. For some reason people (and when I say some people, I mean me) get attached to the most useless stuff, that they know, they are never going to use, ever.

"Are you really going to use that speed bag you bought at a garage sale 3 years ago?"

"Yeah man, don't get rid of that, I'm still going to use that."

"For what? You haven't used it ONCE, since you got it three years ago (I guess it does keep the dust off of that one spot in the attic). Were you still thinking of training to be a heavy weight boxer? Cuz you are heading in the right direction eating potato chips, sitting on your ass and playing video games all Saturday morning!"

That reminds me, I have got to stop going to garage sales too. This is one of my worst habits, seeing as how I myself can't get rid of anything, it’s probably not the best idea to go to someone else’s house and bring more stuff back to my own. I think of it as buying from others, who are on the right path of getting rid of their own useless junk so that they can make room for more useless junk of their own (I like helping people out). There is a lot of useless junk at garage sales that would look good in my attic though. You know what the saying is, "One man's junk, can be another man's junk, at the right price!" And man, garage sales have the right price for everything! I love (SW) it when I'm out garage sailing (and yes, I do Sail though these garages sales), and there is this lady (or man) looking at a glass bowl (or whatever useless item they're shopping for), with a price tag of .25 cents on it, and has the audacity to say, "Will you take a dime for it?" That just drives me up the wall! I just want to go up to the owner of this useless item and say, "I will give you a Dollar for it, just so this bartering shmuck can't rip you off even more." I mean how low can you go! The useless stuff here is worth 10 times what they are selling it for, and they are already ripping themselves off, selling it for the prices that they are. And you are going to stand there, and try to get it for .10 cents? I'm sorry, but I don't take kindly to cheapskates. Which also reminds me, cheapskates are another thing I think we need to get rid of in this world. Too bad I don’t bring my boxing gloves when I’m garage sailing, cuz I think I would get some good use out of’em smacking these people upside.

I forgot where I was going with this post… Oh yeah, Saturday mornings are great. That’s all I wanted to say.

So, until next time... Happy hoarding! And if you’ve got something you don’t need, let me take a look at it. I might have just the place for it!

The Friday Ritual...

Every Friday, when we get home from work/school my wife and I remind ourselves that, it is indeed Friday, and we give each other a nice big Hi Five. Afterwards we do a fist pump, and say, yesssssss! It really helps to kick off the weekend right, and it puts you in a good mood and everything. So next time you are with your wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, friend or anyone you can find, I want you to look them right in the face, and say...

"It's Friiidaayyy!" As you raise your hand in the air, and wait for that person to give you a Hi Five. Then, after the Hi Five has commenced; do one of those fist pumps I told you about, right down by your hip, just a really tiny one and say...

…"Yessssss!"

This is what we do, and all I'm say’in is it makes you feel better for your entire weekend. Give it a try, and I know that you'll be glad that you did.

Caution: If you are going to try this, just be forewarned. It will only work if you do this on a Friday. No Thursday’s, and definitely no Wednesday’s. It just doesn’t feel the same, and you might even ruin it for yourself if you were planning on doing it on Friday anyway’s.

For spammers only...

I thought that I would post one for the spammers (Anyone may feel free to comment though).

Dear spammers,

This post is directed at you. I would first like to thank you all for taking the time energy to promote your site on this blog. I hope that everything is working out for you, in your effort to gain acceptance as well as customers. It is only recently that I noticed an outbreak of spamming on my site. This may be because you have just found my site. Or maybe it is the new thing out there to blog spam. At any rate, may the spam be with you and also to your web site you may be promoting.

Maybe if you click on my ad sense every time you visit my web blog, I can get a little bit of "action coming my way" as well (Maybe I can get .05 cents instead of .02). That would be great, thanks.

Feel free to make yourself at home.

Oh, and I almost forgot....

...Sike!

Edit:

I recently changed the process in posting comments; you will have to enter a word verification to verify that you are a human being and not an AuToMaTeD SpAmMiNg RoBoT (Not sure how well this works, but I'll give it a try). Sorry for the extra step. Hope to still here from you all, if it doesn't seem to work I will delete this step.

Thanks,

Poker Pro Envy

Of all the poker players out there today, I would have to say my favorite top 7 to watch would be (In no particular order)...

Left to Right
starting from above -

1) Daniel Negreanu
2) Jennifer Harman
3) Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
4) Johnny Chan
5) Phil Ivey
6) Layne Flack
7) Scotty Nguyen

These are the players that keep me watching and playing Poker (Besides the fact I just love to watch/play poker in itself).

They make this game exiting and entertaining at the very least. All being excellent players, with some of the best knowledge and poker skills in the world today. What I wouldn't give to be half as good as these guys. They make it look as easy as Riding backwards on a bicycle while wearing roller blades.

Man, these Guys are Good!

Fantasy Football....

It's that time of year again. Get out your best game face and put all of your starters in the line up (As long as they are playing this year). Maybe they are holding out, in that case use your back up (Damn hold outs).

I have been in a FF League going on my fourth (maybe third) year now (I don't remember). It has brought me closer to the game of football and further from my wife every summer (SW). I don't care if I win or if I lose, it is just fun to watch my players go out and give it their all (We play on Yahoo!) I did come in second last year though, not that I care. Just mentioning. Out of 10 teams, just to throw that out there. Couldn't care less...

...Who am I kidding, I'm gonna get the first place trophy this year for sure (Not that there will actually be a trophy). We keep 2 players from the previous year, and my 2 are Shawn Alexander (RB) and Ahman Green (RB). They have contributed to my team for a while now. I think I will give them a big raise this year. I have to talk with them still about the Logistics (This is actually how much into it I am. Note: This is why my wife doesn't like football season).

So to all you FF leaguers out there, go out and give'm hell.

Your truely,

Double Down's League Commissioner on Yahoo! Sports

Numa Numa

I think that the next thing that I will buy for my computer is a MichaelShakes.blogspot.com 'Cam'. I know that it would be way (way) late in the game to get one now, as everyone and their mom has got one already (But I think it's about time). Not to talk with my friends in real time video or anything like that, although that would be a kickback. But because if I had one, I could make a fool of myself in front of millions of people, while I get famous around the world. I mean, just take a look at this kid, he's the most famous Numa Numa kid around. Everyone knows him, everyone loves and laughs at him. He has become so huge in fact, that he now has thousands of web site's made in his honor.

If you haven't seen him before, you have to watch him in action. If you have seen him, you can always check him out again one more time. Then, check out his animated sequel. It's funnier after you watch the original.

So when I get my Cam, be ready for the next up and coming Numa Numa star (I will be the one singing the song from The Wedding Crashers Soundtrack, 'Mungo Jerry - In The Summertime').

If you feel the need to find out more, please go to one of Gary Brolsma many websites.

P.S. Thanks Gary, for this funny, enjoyable and entertaining song and dance. I only wish that I can become as popular with my song, then you became with yours. :)

P.S.S. He is not yet as popular as the Star Wars Kid (Man, that kid was funny. He had me ROFLMAO) but he will get there. If you have time after doing the Numa Numa, watch the Star Wars Kid (If you havn't gotten enough of him yet) from original, them Remix, then 1.5, then Star Wars Kid Very Special Edition (funny as, apple pie).

Signed,

Hopeful

I'm Stacked

Well, if I haven't mentioned it before I'm mentioning it now. I love to play poker and I love to play video games (I love to do a lot of other stuff too, but we'll stick to these two for this post). Daniel Negreanu's new video game...

..."Stacked " will be out 09/13/2005.

This game is looking to be one of the best poker video games out there. It has got a new type of gaming, with 'Artificial Intelligence' that let's the computer change it's style of play if it is starting to lose, which also help's you master your weakness in poker. As well as other features like Career mode and Poker School.

This game will challenge the way you play poker. I guarantee it...

...but you don't have to take my word for it...

Wink ;), Wink ;)

RichardZ.com

Here is the top ten quotes from RichardZ.com from the past 20 posts.

Number 10. "I feel bad for the person using dial-up to view my website."

Number 9. "I'm extraordinarily cranky tonight and just need to unwind. More tomorrow."

Number 8. "Once back in college, I took my landlord to the district magistrate in order to get back my $450 security deposit. I won but the censored claimed chapter 11 bankruptcy immediately after."

Number 7. "Please note that none of the above should be construed as legal advice and is merely for entertainment purposes. If you're looking for legal advice, go see a licensed attorney and don't rely on someone's rambling on a weblog."

Number 6. "Anyone who lives around Pittsburgh, please travel to Dunbar and beat the censored out of this guy."

Number 5. "So you're a glutton for punishment and you like to make things difficult on yourself. I can appreciate that."

Number 4. "Knowing is half the battle of easing anxiety for me, the other half is realizing after I get there that I made a big deal out of nothing."

Number 3. "I now know my limits when it comes to jogging. Due to the fact that I'm flat footed I can run no more than 3-4 miles at any one time otherwise I begin to lose feeling in my feet. It's kind of scary jogging and not being sure if you're going to trip and break your face because you can't feel the ground beneath you."

Number 2. "One of these with hard liquor in it and I'm half way to toasty-town."

And the Number 1 quote from RichardZ.com from the last 20 posts is...

"Nicole Kidman. Any man that divorces Nicole Kidman is gay. I don't care how bad she treats you and how much you feel like a foot stool to a wicked queen of evil. Kidman is so hot that a straight man can not divorce her. Period."

Thanks Rich, for keeping us up to date on life, law and LMAO.

See you in a few days.

Anonymous..

If I don't come off a little bit all growns up, it's because this blog is where I come to post my thoughts and where I can pretend to be a funny guy for my friends, family and who ever feels the need to waste a few minutes of their day by reading blogs of someone they don't even know trying to figure out who's who.

The posts that I make here are suppose to be an outlet and/or a Router if you will, connecting me to the distant people in my life that want to maybe laugh and get access to my little network of thought's and childish sense of humor (Which I think, some people actually like, huh).

So when someone comments on my blog as anonymous and asks me if I would like to advance in my life by calling a long distance number; I don't no if this is a joke or just a nice way of helping out someone who maybe seems like they need to move up this so-called chain of life.

So when you say give you a call, do you mean literally? Or are you just mocking my way of letting loose, by channeling my thoughts on this intranet portal they call Blogging?

If you were serious, give me your 1800- tollfree number so I don't get charged for a bunch of long distance charges. I will think about it.

Yours Truly,

Mike

~An actual reply from a blogger in regards to a comment made from anonymous.

This really happened, on the previous post.

Maybe they ment to say career instead of life. If that's the case, disregard this post. I would love to advance in my career, who wouldn't?

Here kitty kitty...

The funniest thing happened yesterday.

Sarah has wanted to get a kitten for a few weeks now and mentioned it to our downstairs friends. Right away they both said, "No!" (For reasons of allergies and such. Not that bad though. (I hope)).

Yesterday morning (Sunday), Sarah and I were going to get breakfast at Panera Bread (Our Sunday morning cinnamon crunch bagel and Hazel nut coffee ritual); but as we were getting into the car, Sarah heard a kitty crying. So we both looked around, and across the street there was this tiny kitten under a parked car.

Sarah immediately said, "My Kitty!”
I said, "I'm sure it belongs to someone."

We sat for a few minutes to see if someone was looking for it and just then a little girl from across the street came out and started to look around.

I said, "Are you looking for a kitty?"
She then replied, "Yes, thank you very much!" and wondered back across the street.

We got done with our glorious bagel and mouthwatering Hazel nut coffee and decided to head back home.

"It was a sign that we should get a kitty." Sarah said with a delightful smile.

"I think that it was a sign that we have to give up on the idea of a kitty." I said, as we had to give the kitty back to the rightful owner.

When we got home, we were about to walk into our house when the little girl came back across the street...

"Hello, I saw that you guy's were doing a good job on watching this kitty. It's actually not mine, I found it and was going to take it to my church because we are not aloud to have pets." The little girl told us. "If you guy's want to take care of it you can."

Sarah looked at me and smiled

I said, "Ok, we can take care of it." And kindly took the kitten up to her new home.

"Man, that was weird." Sarah said.

"Man, that is really weird." I replied.

I guess that it was a sign after all.

I will post a picture of her when I get one.

Can you think of some girl kitten names that we can name her?

Thanks for your time.

Mike

Update for all

We finally moved into our new apartment this past weekend.

Your probably like, "What new apartment, and we should care because..."

Yes, Sarah and I moved in to an apartment down by the bay front on 2nd street. Right above our good friends Tom and Kaley (same house). We are in the second floor, so we can see the water from our porch (and if it wasn't for the really big apt. complex right across the street we probably would have a pretty good view too).

You should care if you know us, and if you don't you should still care a little.

We moved almost everything from storage and my mom's house (and Sarah's mom's), so we just have to put everything away yet. I did manage to get my big screen TV up and running before we got everything moved in the first day (this is always the first priority when moving into any new house)

You are also probably wondering, "Why was your stuff in storage and your mother's house."

Because as most of you know, this is where we have been for the past few months while my mom has been in Alaska visiting and baby sitting. And now we are moving out.

I will be going on a journey out of town for the same Bachelor Party RichardZ mentioned on his recent Blog. From the 12th till the 14th. Our friend Matt is getting married the weekend before Labor Day, and what would a wedding be without a BC party...

...I guess it would still be a good wedding, but without the BC party.

So thank you all for stopping by and reading about life with the Sheakley's. Rich, Julie and that one guy from Mexico, thank you all.

Work is going well. I would say good, but my wife would have corrected me for that.

See you next time. I have to go get a drink of water.
